It’s week one and the fans in Houston were expecting their team the Texans to come out hard and on fire. Well, that just didn’t happen. Instead, the fans watched Tom Savage and the team’s offense get completely overwhelmed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. So much so in fact, even before halftime, Texans fans were already booing their own team.
When Savage was handed his second sack of the game, you could hear the fans booing in the background as Houston’s offense walked off the field. This followed its fourth failed offensive drive of the game and its third three-and-out. Just not good enough.
Fans came out expecting their team to do big things Sunday. The whole stadium gave J.J. Watt a standing ovation during pre-game introductions. This was an indication of just how passionate they were to be there supporting their team following the devastation the community has suffered from Hurricane Harvey.
For the fans, they live in hope that Savage and the offense can get on track by next week. If not, things in Houston are going to get very ugly, very quickly. This poses the question, is it Deshaun Watson time already?
