Manchester United have stepped up in their efforts to sign Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic. United have been chasing the 28-year-old since before the transfer window opened, and are reported to have had a number of bids rejected by Inter.
It’s widely agreed upon that Manchester United need to bolster their attacking options over the course of the next few weeks. So far, United have signed centre-back Victor Lindelof and high profile striker Romelu Lukaku, but there are still plenty of names left on Jose Mourinho’s ‘secret’ list.
The Red Devil’s are rumoured to have now offered £39 million for Perisic, which could rise to £45; however, this is still just short of Inter’s £48 million valuation of the player. Perisic was set to have talks with Inter boss Luciano Spalletti last week, to discuss his future at the club. Spalletti said of the current speculation: “You keep talking about Perisic and his desire to leave but I need to listen to his own words first and then decide how to act.”
“I hope to have him in the side, I am counting on it and I am positive in that sense.”
