Liverpool look to bolster their attacking options by signing German midfielder Max Meyer. The 21-year-old (who currently plays for Bundesliga side Schalke 04) is being monitored by Liverpool scouts at the current European Under-21 Championship in Poland.
Max Mayer has continued to impress over his last four seasons at Schalke, bagging a number of important goals and assists. The Germany international’s high speed dribbling style has been likened to that of a young Lionel Messi, and it is thought that a number of top clubs are interested in signing the player before the start of the 2017/18 season.
In other news, Liverpool are still trying to offload left-back Alberto Moreno to Italian side Napoli, despite reports that a swap deal for Faouzi Ghoulam will not be going ahead.
In form Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe is also unlikely to join the Merseyside team, with Real Madrid, PSG, and Arsenal looking like better options for the 18-year-old Frenchman. Monaco are reported to be offering Mbappe a significant pay increase to keep him at the club.
