The Atlanta Falcons’ wide receiver had a bad day at the office today. In bad news for the team and fans alike, Julio Jones hobbled off the field just before halftime Sunday, with what at first looked to be nothing more than a minor hip issue.
But when Atlanta emerged after the break, the teams star receiver was nowhere to be seen and was apparently still in the locker room receiving attention. With no sign of Jones, the Falcons suffered their first loss of the season.
It was bad news all round when the team ruled both Jones (hip flexor) and then No. 2 wide-out Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) very soon into the games third quarter. The Falcons were already struggling against a very stubborn Bills defense, the Bills held the Falcons to only 7 points in the second half in a 23-17 loss.
Before leaving the game, Jones had three catches for 30 yards in the first half on four targets. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was on the back foot for most of the first half and sustained four hits and a fumble that Buffalo returned for a touchdown.
