The NFL came to London yesterday and while both the Jaguars and the Ravens took to the field the Ravens might as well have stayed in Baltimore.
This was the biggest blowout of this NFL season so far with the Jaguars destroying the Ravens, winning 44-7. The Ravens eventually scored in what is called garbage time.
Joe Flacco the Ravens quarterback had easily the worst game of his NFL career, going 8-for-18 for a career-low 28 yards, with zero touchdowns, two interceptions and a career-low passer rating of 12.0. Maybe it was jetlag but it was a shocking outing from Flacco, who was eventually pulled out of the game for Ryan Mallett in the fourth quarter.
On the opposite side, Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles was on fire. He went 20-for-32 for 244 yards, with four touchdowns and no interceptions. Three of those touchdown passes were caught by tight end Marcedes Lewis.
To add insult to injury the Jaguars also ran a successful fake punt while leading 37-0.
It was a terrible turn of fortune for the Ravens’ defense, which up till now had looked solid in the teams first two games of the season. And for the Jaguars it was easily the best game we’ve seen from the team in a long time. Both teams are now 2-1, and who knows what the rest of the season holds for either of them as this game defied all pre game expectations of what we thought the Ravens were, and what the Jaguars could be.
