Everton are reported to have offered Swansea £40 million for their star player Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Swans are understood to have rejected the offer, and are sticking to their £50 million valuation. The in-demand midfielder has also been the subject of a bid from Leicester City.
Swansea seem determined not to lose Glyfi Sigurdsson this summer. The 27-year-old experienced what was arguably his greatest year of football over the 2016/17 season, making 40 appearances for the club in which he scored 10 goals, and made a number of important assists. The Icelandic international is undoubtedly the Swans most influential player, and there’s no doubting that he would fit in at a bigger club.
Everton have had no problem in throwing cash around this summer, and even though £50 million is a tad excessive, you’d have to think that the Toffees will bite the bullet and secure a deal for Sigurdsson over the next few weeks.
