As the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony saga continues, the player has made it known that he is not interested in speaking to the Knickerbockers’ new front office no matter what they have to say.
According to a story in the New York Daily News, sources have indicated that team president Steve Mills has tried to talk with Anthony to go over options; however, Anthony is not interested in having such a discussion after the team put an imminent trade deal with the Houston Rockets on hold. “For him, there’s nothing to talk about,” a source close to Anthony said.
On Wednesday, Anthony was just as nonchalant when speaking about the Knicks’ new general manager Scott Perry.
“I’m pretty sure I’ll talk to him when the time comes,” Anthony said.
So there it is. With not a lot to say at this point, and neither side talking to each other, it stalemate. The Knicks are well aware that Anthony does not want to be back with the team and wants to be traded to the Rockets. That means for Anthony, it’s simply a matter of making it happen.
