It’s good news for Cincinnati Bengals fans. First-round draft pick John Ross, who missed Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, is on course to play for the team this week. It was glaringly obvious that the team could have used his blazing speed in a game that saw the Bengals completely shut out. As long as Ross doesn’t suffer any setbacks during this weeks training, he should be available to play on Thursday night.
It was in Cincinnati’s final preseason game that Ross hurt his knee, and because of that he was held back on Sunday. But, he was listed as a full participant in Tuesday’s practice, obviously great news for the team as the Bengals prepare to face the Houston Texans on three days rest.
The Bengals drafted Ross No. 9 overall out of Washington. This was despite the fact that the wide receiver had multiple knee injuries in college and needed shoulder surgery this offseason.
As well as many other teams in the league, the Bengals were more than impressed with Ross’ record-setting speed. After seeing their team get destroyed in Week 1, Bengals fans have even more reason to be excited about Ross taking the field.
